Startup: Database Does Not Exist |
||||
When you startup JeSTeR you receive the error message “The database does not exist. Please set the database options under Setup”. Explanation: The application was unable to find the database server configured under the Setup Options. Resolution: There are a couple of different items to verify when facing this issue:
Verify Server is Running 1. If your installation has a dedicated server ensure that runs the firebird server ensure that it is up and operating and that the Firebird 1.5 Server is running. (Control Panel->Firebird 1.5 Server Manager). 2. If your installation has does not have a dedicated server then verify that the workstation designated as the server is running and the Firebird 1.5 Server is operating correctly.
Firewall Problem 1. Verify your firewall software, if installed, are configured to allow JeSTeR.exe to communicate with the network. 2. Make sure TCP Port 3050 is open on your software firewall on both the workstation and the server We do not officially support software firewalls and you will need to contact your vendor for specific instructions and information on how to add it as an exception. The wrong Setup Options are set Verify you have the appropriate information set under Setup Options: Server Options Server IP = Name or IP Address of the server Database Name = C:\FBDB\JESTER.FDB (by default) Database Username and Password Username = jester Password = database_password To set it back to default you need to click the Defaults button in the Database Username and Password Section. Click Apply to test to verify |
